Creative Connections was an 8 week programme of gentle creative activities and practical wellbeing for adults in West Bicester seeking connection and creativity.
It took place at the Kingsmere Community Centre on Friday mornings throughout April and May. Up to 14 particpants joined us each week.
Participants enjoyed the relaxed nature of each session and ‘permission to play’. It took a little while to shake the need to produce something perfect and simply enjoy the process of getting creative.
Everyone received their own journal and project folder to keep their work and add to at home. Soon they were exploring outside of session and proudly showing their work when back together.
New friendships were made through creative activities and all are keen to continue, even offering to showcase and lead a future session with some of thier own creative skill such as card making and pyrography.
Hoping to return September 2026

We ended with a celebration at Bicester Library with participants, friends and family as well as visitors from Cherwelll District Council the Mill and Bicester Mayor Cllr Dr Paul Wheatley.

“I have really enjoyed all the classes, it's been great to try out some new things and to meet lovely people. Two hours is not enough, they fly by!”
“I have enjoyed very much the community group of crafters and have learnt some new ways of crafting like lino printing. It has also ignited in me the wanting to explore and create further with items had at home but lacked the motivation and creativity. Thank you Nicolette for the inspiration, your energy and enthusiasm has inspired me once again. I do hope the group and other crafters can craft and learn together in the near future.”
