Bumble Creatives CIC is developing a nature-connected strand of our creative wellbeing work, bringing together therapeutic arts, community connection and gentle outdoor practice. Building on our existing work with children, young people, adults and families, this page shares the direction of travel for how we hope to grow nature-based wellbeing opportunities in Bicester and surrounding villages.
What we are developing?
We are exploring:
This work is currently in development. We are taking time to listen, test ideas, build partnerships and shape a thoughtful programme that responds to local need while respecting the ecology of the places we work in.
Our hope is to create accessible, creative and emotionally safe ways for people in Bicester to feel more connected: to themselves, to others, to community and to nature.

My recent completion of NatureWell Health Facilitator training has been an important step in shaping this work. The training deepened my understanding of the relationship between nature connectedness, wellbeing and community health, whilst also introducing me to an inspiring network of people already delivering nature-based approaches in different settings. The experience has sparked new ideas, connections and potential partnerships, reinforcing my belief that creative, nature-connected activity has an important role to play in supporting wellbeing, belonging and resilience within our communities.

As Wellbeing Coordinator with Oxford SUP Club, we also have unique opportunities to think beyond traditional outdoor activities and explore the role of blue spaces in supporting wellbeing. Farmoor Reservoir and access to the River Thames, offers unique environments where people can experience nature from an entirely different perspective, developing confidence, curiosity and connection through time spent on and around the water. As this work develops, I am excited by the potential to bring together creativity, wellbeing, nature connection and a deeper appreciation of the local landscapes that surround us.

We hope to begin offering Nature based sessions from autumn onwards, following the rhythm of the seasons and exploring how the changes we see in nature can help us reflect on the transitions in our own lives.
Sessions will take place in and around Bicester, making use of both the obvious and perhaps less obvious green spaces that many of us pass every day without really noticing.
Together we'll slow down, explore, create, observe and connect, developing a deeper relationship with the places around us and a greater awareness of how nature can support wellbeing.

Whether walking through local parks, noticing seasonal changes along familiar routes, spending time beside water, or discovering hidden pockets of nature within our communities, the aim is not to travel far but to see nearby places differently. By paying attention to the natural world on our doorstep, we can strengthen our sense of belonging, connection and care for both ourselves and the environment around us.

Rooted is being developed for people of all ages who are interested in wellbeing, creativity, nature and community. Whether you're looking to meet new people, spend more time outdoors, support your wellbeing or simply see familiar places through fresh eyes, you'll be welcome.
